What it is

Who Gets In? is the official-public-source research programme from Elite Careers Strategy examining how highly selective employers and universities say they choose people. Led by Hassan Akram, it preserves institution, programme, market, observation date, denominator and limitation beside the evidence. The current canonical corpus contains 1004 governed selection signals backed by 383 unique official source records. It is not a ranking, acceptance-rate database or representative survey of all elite institutions.

What is now directly citable

AI-policy subset. The defined comparison contains 8 institutions. Use the published finding with its denominator rather than as an all-employer prevalence estimate.

Human-review subset. 7 institutions have explicit checked evidence of human judgement or review in the defined subset.

Cross-market dossiers. BlackRock is the first five-hub anchor. Goldman Sachs, Clifford Chance, Freshfields and Morgan Stanley now have bounded institution dossiers at varying evidence depth.

Answerability. The 30-question benchmark is now 29 authoritative, 0 strong, 0 partial and 1 research-gap answers.

What it does not show

  • No national or sector prevalence estimate unless explicitly denominated.
  • No ranking of markets or institutions.
  • No hidden scoring or candidate-weighting model.
  • No acceptance odds or universal conversion rate.
  • No inference that an unobserved feature is absent.
  • No private ECS client evidence is used as WGI research evidence.

A live example of the research system working

Earlier research could not establish programme-level Morgan Stanley evidence for Singapore or Dubai. On 13 September, later official Morgan Stanley Campus listings exposed a 2027 Investment Banking route covering Singapore and a separate 2027 Dubai Investment Banking Off-Cycle Internship. WGI preserved the failed-search record, marked the gap resolved, and promoted the new evidence rather than rewriting the prior uncertainty. Morgan Stanley is now classified FIVE_HUB_COVERAGE_FOUR_VERIFIED_ONE_PARTIAL.

It is run by Elite Careers Strategy, the private career advisory firm he also founded. He reports reviewing more than 10,000 applications and related candidate materials across recruitment work and ECS advisory. He has been featured in the Financial Times.
