Which reviewed elite US firms use rolling recruiting?

Milbank, Cleary, Simpson Thacher, Gibson Dunn, Weil and UBS each publish a rolling-review or rolling-interview rule for the named route. Susman Godfrey shows why the programme matters: its 1L fellowship may make rolling offers, while its 2027 2L summer process used a fixed review start after the application deadline.

Where the reviewed sources say timing is rolling

One firm can operate both ways

Susman Godfrey's 2027 1L Diversity Fellowship says offers may be made on a rolling basis. On the same official page, its 2027 2L summer process had a June 30 deadline and a stated July 1 review start. That is why WGI treats programme and route as separate dimensions rather than assigning a single “rolling” label to an institution. Official source · SIG-249 and SIG-251.

Does applying early matter?

For a route that explicitly uses rolling review or rolling offers, timing can matter because evaluation begins before the final deadline or opportunities can be allocated while applications remain open. That does not justify a universal rule that earlier is always better: some routes use fixed review windows, and even within one firm different programmes can operate differently.

What this does not prove

This defined subset does not estimate how common rolling recruitment is across US BigLaw or investment banking, and it does not establish how much advantage an earlier application creates.
